This lovely renovated bayside home is a considered and tasteful rebirth of a Mid-century gem. My client extended the home to gain a master bedroom and a decandent walk in robe. I designed the WIR, the bathroom, the laundry and the kitchen and had heaps of fun with my client sourcing some special finishes and feature elements. A major design hurdle, was being able to elegantly fit new appliances into a 1960’s kitchen, it was a challenge as the proportions of the space did not allow for larger devices. I decided to integrate the pantry and fridge behind the veneer feature wall, enabling functionality without cluttering the smaller space. The overhead cabinet was based on the original.
At the end of this painstakingly slow process my client caringly contacted the past owner to invite her around and hopefully receive the stamp of approval. He got it! Phew!
